This work investigates the importance and feasibility of microbiological prospecting for sulphide ore deposits. The Otjihase ore deposit near Windhoek, Namibia, was used. This deposit contains iron, copper and zinc sulphides (pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite respectively) as the major ore minerals
