Summary: This paper reviews perspectives on the biogeography of freshwater fish in Namibia. It further discusses the distribution of the fish fauna in the Zambezian and Southern Provinces as well as in the interior of Namibia. A similarity index (S I) is presented to indicate the close historical linkage between the rivers in the north. The distribution of the fish is discussed at species level and presented in a tabulated form. The presence of one undiscribed clariid from the Kunene Riber is recorded.
