Summary: In an area 70 km northwest of Omaruru, the Damara Group consists mainly of dolomite and marble at the base (Hakos Sungroup and Nuremberg Member) followed by almost 10 000 m of mica schist (Khomas Formation of the Swakop Subgroup). The area was mapped in 1969-70 and is underlain mainly by rocks of the Nosib and Damara Groups and the Salem granite suite
