Short history on historic buisiness building in the Swakopmund main street and in the main shopping area. Old pioneers of the early days of Swakopmund, such as the Rose Vogt Store family, are briefly described. The Vogt Store building was originally during the early colonial period the property of the Damara & Namaqua Handelsgesellschaft, Kaiser Wilhelm street no.23. During 1905 Adam Erkrath constructed here a butchery. Later Etemba Schmidt from Omaruru and Anton Kaiser added to the buildings some structures. Finally Oscar Tückmantel concluded building opperations with another addition of showers and spare rooms. (See historical corrections to this article in Journal vol.53, Page.... year 2005)
