Summary: The Stampriet Artesian Basin has attracted interest since the first artesian boreholes were drilled near Stampriet in 1913 and near Leonardville in 1924. Three sampling trips were undertaken in the area. The preliminary results and conclusions were reported to the SWA Steering Committee for Water Research. In this report all the measurements are presented, the principles and methodology are described, and the results pertinent to the area and more general application are discussed

The Stampriet Artesian Basin has attracted interest since the first artesian boreholes were drilled near Stampriet in 1913 and near Leonardville in 1924.
