Summary: Enviroteach was initiated by the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia, through the Ministry of Basic Education and Culture, to support post-independence education reform. This was realized primarily through the production of a range of resources that provide information and ideas on themes linked to the Namibian environment. Books addressing three broad themes linked to the Namibian environment provided background information related to energy, water and people. These were entitled ` Playing with Fire', ` Sink or Swim' and ` Lives in the Balance'. Each of these three books had special pages that showed teachers how to link their subjects to the Enviroteach resources, whether they were teaching life science or physical science, mathematics, English or other languages, social studies, arts or technology and handiwork. These three books were followed up by a fourth entitled ` Tools of the Trade' that contaidut information on the philosophy of learner-centred, activities-based, cross-curricular teaching as well as useful guidelines on different methods and techniques to achieve these objectives. This D V D contains all 13 books and teacher aids published from 1995 to 1998
