Summary: In the Sperrgebiet the winter rainfall zone is not well defidut and a transitional area exists were summer and winter rains overlap. Rains are patchy, unpredictable and highly variable. This factor complicates interpreting rainfall data from widely spaced weather stations. The auther has started researching rainfall in the Sperrgebiet and has to date compiled initial results. More final results well only be available after a long period of recording and observing rainfall patterns
