This work attempts to touch on all the major areas -- physical, social, religious -- of the culture of the affiliated tribes of the central Bartose Plain, particularly those within the ecology of the flooding Zambezi River. The author summarizes data that come primarily from the writings of Gluckman, Strike, and Jalla. The strongest section concerns the religious and magical beliefs.
