The present volume embodies the results of the studies made by an expedition sent by the University of the Witwatersrand to the Southwestern end of the Kalahari in July, 1936. Mr. Donald Bain, the well-known South African explorer and big game hunter, had assembled, about May 1936, at his camp, situated at Tweerivieren, immediately south of the junction of the Auop and the nosop rivers, some seventy Bushmen, whom he intended to take to the Empire Exhibition, which was held in Johannesburg from September 1936 to January 1937.
