Summary: This was a memorable event, the 60th anniversary of the Namibia Bird Club. Mr Heinrich von Maltzahn was the first Chair of the“Ornithologische Arbeitsgruppe der Wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft”, as it was then known. There are few organisations that can look back on many years of existence; the Windhoek Farmers’ Association turned 118 this year and the Namibia Scientific Society 97. Only a few associations reach this status.
