Summary: This study concentrates on internal migration, but with internal migration there arises the problem of distance. Below a certain distance people are really only movers, not migrants. Parish centers were located without a few exceptions at least twenty kilometers from each other and in some communities like Uukwambi, Uukwaluudhi, Ombalantu and Ongandjera there was working only one Lutheran parish before the Second World War. This paper is focused on the period 1925 - 1935 when the southern part of the Owambo region suffered of a period of successive drought years.
