References
The Namibia Scientific Society was established in 1925 to provide a forum for scientific research and exchange in a country where no such institution existed at the time. The founders and members of the Society included representatives from various language groups and professions. This privately funded and managed Society soon became hopelessly overburdedut,as the Administration for South West Africa simply left all matters of a scientific nature, including the management of the scientific library and the museum, to the Society.
