The evolution of the chemical composition of artesian water in the Auob sandstone : Namibia/ South West Africa / G. Tredoux, Jürgen Kirchner

By: Contributor(s): Material type: TextTextLanguage: English Series: Transactions of the Geological Society of South Africa, Vol. 84 Part 2, Special issue 1981; p. 169 - 175Publication details: Johannesburg : The Geological Society of South Africa, 1981Description: 7 pages : fig., tables; 30 cmSubject(s): DDC classification:
  • REP 551.498 TRE
Summary: Intensive geohydrological investigations were carried out to establish the water supply potential of the Stampriet Artesian basin for rural purpose. In the study area the chemical composition of the water in the Auob sandstone displays a marked change. Several phenomena apparently contribute to the chemical trends observed in the Auob aquifer. This necessitated a detailed geohydrochemical investigation for the resolution of the probable water quality at any point in the aquifer
