Summary: The colloquium on teacher education and the H I G CSE paradigm was held from 27-29th of March 1995 at the U NA M campus. This was an attempt by the Faculty of Education to address several issues pertaining to education practice and teacher education in the country. Points under discussion elaborated on an overview of the H I G CSE paradigm and how it is working in Namibia. Secondly teacher preparation, in service training and resourcing. Implications for educators included the implimentation of the I G CSE and H I G CSE curriculum and assessment systems in Namibia. Issues of importance were teacher training and learning strategies, language policies and adapting an international system to meet national goals
