Summary: Dr. Scherz and Dr. Wendt did initially research on Rock art in Namibia. Dr. Fock, formerly of the National Museum was transferred to Kimberley where he continued and published rock art in the Northern Cape. Most remarkable among the finds were fragments of granite from the painted ceiling of the shelter which had traces of pigment. Some of the many organic remains found in the same strata will provide radio carbon dates which shouls reveal the time of exfoliation of the paintings
