In this article described are results of an investigation of the morphology of linear dunes in the Namib sand sea. Furthermore are briefly discussed some of the possible causes of the regularity in their spacing. Four important morphometric properties of the dunes were recorded. Firstly the alignment or trend of dune crests, secondly their crest to crest spacing. Thirdly the width of the dune at its base and lastly the dune heights. A graph shows mean dune spacings at sampled sites
