Bradfields Swift, Apus bradfieldi ranges from southern Angola across much of Namibia and into north-central Cape Province of South Africa. In the Fish River canyon it was observed that the birds entered cracks in an overhanging cliff shortly after sunset and departed early next morning. On 17 March 1984 a pair of Bradfields Swifts repeatedly entered a hole among dead palm fronds in a tall palm tree at Omaruru. Another report of Bradfields Swift of a roost of about 20 were observed in Washingtonia palms at the Windhoek railway station in August 1982
