A scientific description on studies carried out on the endemic Welwitschia mirabilis bainesii in Namibia. This plant survives in areas where the rainfall is as low as 55mm per annum as it utilizes moisture from fog. The unusal high rainfall provided a rare opportunity to measure the growth of the plants, which had been naturally marked. In total 102 plants were measured in mm. Included tables indicate the measured results pertaining to stem diameter, total growth, primary growth, secondary growth, sex of plant and topography notes
