Summary: In the Hartmann zebra one finds an exclusive one-male dominance over a given number of females. During a study on the ecology and behaviour of the Hartmann zebra the author was fortunate to obtain some information on their reproductive behaviour and cycles. The results are given in this paper as a small contribution to a better understanding of the reproduction of the wild species of Equidae
