Quarts latite units interbedded with basaltic lavas in the Etendeka Formation form extensive sheet-like deposits which are probably the product of high temperature ash-flows. In this study geochemistry has been used as a primary criterion for the correlation of major quartz latite units within the southern Etendeka area
