Summary: This article confirms the problems encountered in the jigsaw on the origin, distribution and characteristics of fairy circles in Kaokoland. Despite a German claim that scientists are on track solving this phenomenon by concentrating on termites, toxic euphorbia plants or radioactive soil, no posetive conclusions are on the horizon as yet. Lately experiments on residual effects of toxic ash are carried out. However, the scientific world has to come up with other strategies, which probably will take up some more time in years to come
