One of the best preserved stone ruins in Namibia which has not been dated accurately by archaeologists to date. From German times it was known as " Schanzen" and another part of this farm as Gugunas. The settlement was built on top of a hill with open water down below in the Bak river. It must have been an ancient fortress where livestock was also kept. In one area stones where packed upright, giving the indication of a serimonial place. Morenga stayed here for a while fighting German troops in the Karas Mountains. Not far from the ruins stands the old house of Fryer who with his sons did gunrunning from Botswana to assist Hendrik Witbooi. It is believed that robber Hendrick Hendricks knew of this locality way back in the previous centuary
