In the highland of South- West-Africa (Namibia) natural difficulties oppose the present and further development of cattle raising on the basis of the utilization of natural formations of vegetation, especially of savannas covered with thornbush and semideserts. Those difficulties can only be overcome by means of a purposeful research and planning considering in a comprehensive way the natural conditions of the country as well as its management and settlement
