Summary: The English translation is known as " Sheltering Desert." Dr. Henno Martin and Hermann Korn fled into the Kuiseb River Canyon area in 1939 at outbreak of World War two, to avoide being interdut at Andalusia. They spent some time in the wilderness and did some geological exploration during their stay. Eventually a lack of food forced them to return to Windhoek and hand themselves over to the police. An interesting publication which was reprinted several times.
