An archaeological site in north-west Namibia is situated at the Ugab river where the track from Brandberg West is crossing the river northbound. Because of the lack of another name the author called the site " Ugab Crossing". The remains which can be seen there belong to the pastoral nomads culture which spread mainly over the Damaraland between the Brandberg and the Atlantic Coast in earlier times. The hut remains, storage cairns and other structures at Ugab Crossing are estimated to belong to the last centuries. Ugab Crossing can be compared with other similar settlements in the surrounding areas, which all belong to a network of encampments of the pastoral nomads. It consists of 11 sites with about 150 stone structures. This report gives an overview on the settlement patterns and the main features of the sites.
