A general develpment plan was investigated and various proposals submitted for a future larger Windhoek. Townplanners are confronted with basic traffic problems of the past. Municipal engineers are in particular confronted due to an inmense increase of motor traffic and urban development demands. Traffic increase also demands the broadening of streets. In addition drainage across streets, squares and open space within shopping complexes must always be recodut with. All towns in the country have a severe problem with parking space due to the increase of vehicles. Proposed development and new infrastructure, indicated in red, has been submitted on city plans of Windhoek in this publication
