<br/><br/>  This paper concerns Nharo medicine men as they practised at the time of fieldwork (1974-5), and especially the Nharo of the central area, who differ in some ways from the western Nharo studied by Dorothea  Bleek in 1920-1, and the eastern Nharo studied by Mathias  Buenther from 1968-70.  But in view of the lack of published data on the central Nharo, whose belief system is unusual in some respects, this brief overview of Nharo medicine is intended to be primarily descriptive and comparative
